Yessica, who is in her 30s, had just opened the bonnet of her black Renault Clio to check on the battery when the car mowed her over.

One wheel rolled directly over her chest – and could have crushed her ribs.

Police and emergency services scrambled to the scene of the bizarre accident in the city of Comodoro Rivadavia in Argentina.

The woman lay bleeding on the intersection of Roca Avenue and Canadá street.

She was taken to hospital where doctors confirmed she had no fractures or serious injuries.

A witness told police the woman had been attempting to connect the battery cables at the time, and that the car lurched forward the moment the cables made contact.

Officers have seized the vehicle for investigation.

They will examine the brakes and transmission system to find out if the accident stemmed from a mechanical failure or simple human error – like failing to put the handbrake on.

Reacting to the clip on Facebook, Andres Fernández quipped: “Maybe she didn’t know about the handbrake… well, now she does”.

But other well wishers said: “Oh, poor thing!! I hope she’s doing well”.

An even more extraordinary road accident was captured on cameras last week.

One daredevil driver launched his car into the air and leapt over another vehicle in a desperate bid to out-drive the cops.

The jaw-dropping moment was captured during a high-speed police chase.

Careening the car across two lanes, the vehicle then ploughed straight off the road.

It crossed the grass bank between two intersections, then accelerated up a road-side ditch, going so quickly it becomes airborne.
