In his first official visit to New Delhi after assuming office as the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari met President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President C P Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During his meeting with the Prime Minister, Adhikari discussed issues related to the state’s development, governance and economic revival.Following the meeting on Friday, Adhikari described the interaction as “an honour and privilege” in a post on X and thanked the Prime Minister for extending warm wishes and assuring full support to West Bengal.“This marks my first official meeting with the Hon’ble Prime Minister since assuming the responsibility of serving the people of West Bengal as Chief Minister,” Adhikari said in a statement issued after the meeting.According to the Chief Minister, the Prime Minister reiterated his vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” and emphasised that the development of West Bengal remains a priority for the Centre. Adhikari said Modi assured all possible assistance, guidance and Central support to accelerate the state’s economic growth, industrial revival and youth empowerment.Adhikari further said that the state government is committed to ushering in a “new era of double-engine growth, transparent governance and holistic development” with the support of the Centre and the trust of the people.During his visit, Adhikari also met Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, along with BJP national president Nitin Nabin.After meeting Home Minister Amit Shah, Adhikari thanked him for his “trust” and said that, with the cooperation of the Central government, the West Bengal government would “fulfil the dream of building a developed Bengal and continue to work tirelessly for the welfare of every citizen.”In his meeting with Nitin Nabin, Adhikari congratulated the BJP president on the party’s success in the West Bengal elections. He further said, “We reaffirmed our commitment to working tirelessly under his vision to further strengthen the party and fulfil the aspirations of the people of West Bengal.”
