THE stepdad accused of abandoning two children in a Portuguese forest recorded strange videos just days earlier, warning people to hide in nature before the apocalypse.
Disturbing videos have emerged of Marc Ballabriga, 55, in which he says he is preparing for the end of the world.

Stepdad Ballabriga and Marine Rousseau, 41, are accused of abandoning their two children, Barthelemy and Zacharie, aged five and three, in a Portuguese forest, blindfolded in a twisted “treasure hunt” on May 19.
Just four days earlier, Ballabriga seems to have recorded the chilling videos which, as well as strange conspiracy theories, also contained hate speech, according to CNN Portugal.
He claimed to be speaking on May 15, and declared that the world would end on May 22, in the videos obtained by TVI.
Ballabriga, a former police officer said: “Today is the first day of the preparations for Armageddon, which will start on 22 May and which will last 28 days.

He added menacingly: “You will be afraid, you will all be afraid.
“Me, I won’t be afraid. I’ve been expecting this for a very long time.”
Ballabriga was arrested with his partner Rousseau on May 21.
The French couple were refused bail yesterday and will be held until their trial.

After warning of the end of the world, Ballabriga appears to tell people to hide in nature, where he says “there is enough space for us all”.
In the video, he declared: “We can hide, We can hide here between the rocks.
“We can all find solutions to find our shelter.”
In another clip, Ballabriga seems to believe he is in control of the sun, commanding it to shine in order to scare away a horse.
The horse, he claimed “is not natural, it was hybridised with reptile DNA“.
In another clip, Ballabriga turns the camera on himself to show his eyes, saying he has “no problem looking at the sun for a long time”.
Ballabriga and his partner Rousseau are thought to have told their five and three-year-old boys that they were playing a game called “drive away the devil”.
The boys were found crying and screaming alone on a rural road on Tuesday – before Rousseau, a sexologist, and her partner Ballabriga were tracked down by cops 100 miles away in a café near Lisbon.

The youngsters were said to be carrying a backpack packed with clothes, water, biscuits and fruit when they were found.
It comes as reports claimed the sexologist mum and ex-cop stepdad plotted to “pretend they were crazy” after their arrest.
Court officials are understood to be aware of the alleged conversation, that took place in a police car shortly after they were cuffed.
Bizarrely, Rousseau was heard belting out a song like an opera singer, while Ballabriga yelled in French: “I love you.”
It is unclear who exactly Ballabriga was referring to when he made the remark.
A judge is expected to decide on Saturday whether the couple will be allowed to be released on bail.
