SIR Tony Blair has launched an attack on Starmer’s Labour over tax hikes, welfare spending and Net Zero — warning the party is “playing with fire”.
In a blistering letter, the former PM accused Sir Keir Starmer of lacking a “coherent plan” for Britain and retreating to the “comfort zone” of left-wing politics.

During Sir Tony’s tenure as PM from 1997 to 2007, he won three general elections for Labour – but is now a divisive figure within the party, mainly due to the Iraq War.
Blair said Labour’s disasters include the decision to raise employers’ National Insurance Contributions, Net Zero acceleration, the phasing out of the British oil and gas industry, the workers’ rights package, increase in the minimum wage and targeting non-doms.
The former MP also scolded leadership rivals Andy Burnham for advocating to move the party “even further left” and Wes Streeting for plans to rejoin the EU.
His 5,000-word assessment of the Government is sure to rock Sir Keir’s premiership even more as he fights to stay in No10.
