Lt Gen Harjeet Singh Sahi has taken over as the Chief of Staff of the Western Command at Chandimandir Military Station, bringing immense pride to his native district and Punjab.A native of Nabipur village (Sadhugarh), Lt Gen Sahi is a highly decorated officer. For his distinguished service, he has been awarded the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM), Uttam Yudh Seva Medal (UYSM), Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM), Yudh Seva Medal (YSM), and Sena Medal (SM).An alumnus of Punjab Public School, Nabha, and the Indian Military Academy, he was commissioned into the 23rd Battalion of the Rajput Regiment in December 1988. He currently holds the prestigious appointment of Colonel of the Rajput Regiment. Residents of Nabipur celebrated the milestone by distributing sweets. Expressing the family’s joy, his elder brother, Surjit Singh Sahi — a prominent businessman and President of the Press Club, Fatehgarh Sahib — said, “This is a proud moment not just for our family, district and state, but for the entire nation.
