IF you spent the bank holiday weekend kicking the duvet off and flipping the pillow for the cold side, take a look at this Dunelm deal.

The retailer has reduced the cost of a cooling fitted sheet from £16 to just £12.80, as part of its summer sale.

Fogarty Cotton Fitted Sheet, from £12.80 (was £16)

While plenty of Brits have been enjoying the sun during this heatwave, the Met Office has been reported on so-called “tropical nights”.

Sleeping through these clammy, hot temperatures can be a real challenge.

Dunelm’s Fogarty sheet has been designed with hot temperatures in mind.

It’s made from a 70% cotton, 30% Tencel Lyocell blend, woven to a 200 thread count.

The Tencel is the bit doing the work here: it’s naturally moisture-wicking, so it pulls sweat away rather than letting it sit against you, which is what actually keeps you cool rather than just feeling cool for the first ten minutes.

It comes in six colours, from Silver to Warm Sage, and in sizes from single up to super king.

The price climbs with size, topping out at £20.80 (down from £26) for the super king.

The reviews are genuinely enthusiastic.

One Dunelm customer wrote that it “genuinely feels like hotel bedding” and washes well.

Another, meanwhile, said they slept so much better they “went back and got the whole range.”

A third liked “the cool feeling like when you roll over at night,” which is the bit hot sleepers will recognise.

It’s not universal, though. A couple of reviewers found their sheet didn’t feel as soft as they’d expect from Tencel, and one had a fit problem with the dimensions.

And if you’re particular about crease-free bedding, another warned it crumples — so it’s not the sheet for you if you iron everything.

At £12.80 for a single, though, it’s one of the cheaper ways to test whether cooling bedding actually helps you, without committing to a full premium set.

Specialist cooling sheets routinely run tens of pounds more, so this sits at the affordable end of the category.

The sheet also carries a five-year guarantee and is OEKO-TEX certified, which is more reassurance than you’d expect at this price.

A fitted sheet won’t fix a hot bedroom on its own, mind.

If the heat’s really getting to you, it’s worth pairing it with a bladeless fan with a sleep timer that switches off after you’ve drifted off, and a few breathable bedding swaps to keep the whole bed cooler through the night.
