SACKED TV chef Gregg Wallace is saying he’s not selling his Kent mansion out of necessity after putting it on the market last month.

Gregg, 61, was sacked by the BBC from his MasterChef hosting gig in July 2025 after complaints of inappropriate behaviour and bullying.

He has largely not worked since he got fired and last month announced he put his £1 million home up for sale.

Gregg defended his decision to sell the mansion on Instagram, saying that while he was not earning as much money now, he was still earning incomes by making personalised videos for people on Cameo.

“People are going to say ‘Well you wouldn’t be selling [your house] if you were still earning all that money from the television ‘and that’s probably true, but I am not,” he began.

“And people say ‘Well you have to sell’ well no I don’t it’s been two years since I’ve earned any money from the television and thankfully I’m working and earning a living and paying the bills.”

He previously announced his plans to relocated to Italy with his family and in his recent Instagram said the house sale was so they could find “somewhere cheaper” to live and with less upkeep.

“I am in my sixties, I want to create a lifestyle that’s easily affordable and all of the pressure is off, that feels to me like comfort,” Gregg explained.

The former TV star captioned the post: “It was Cameo that enabled us to cover all the bills so for those of you that booked a message.”

Gregg joined Cameo in December and sells personalised videos at £38.05 for individuals and £342.47 for businesse.

Anyone who wants to message Gregg directly can do so for £2.28.

Gregg also discussed how his future could see him “home-schooling” his young son who is autistic and non-verbal.

Last month, Gregg attempted to revive his cooking career by launching a new TikTok cookalong livestream event.

He hosted a 12-hour live show titled Gregg’s Kitchen on the app on Easter Jattvibeday.

Gregg faced a slew of complaints about his behaviour on the popular BBC cooking show, including some from celeb contestants.

A damning report upheld 45 of the 83 complaints between 2005 and 2024.
