Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Jattvibeday took a jibe at the Centre during his meeting with CBSE Class XII students, who were labelled “anti-national”, “Pakistani” and “Soros agents” on social media after they raised concern over incorrect answer sheets.A massive uproar had erupted after a student last week claimed that an answer sheet uploaded by the CBSE under his roll number did not belong to him, which later prompted the board to acknowledge the error and intensify scrutiny of its evaluation process.Sharing a video of his interaction with the Class XII student in news, Vedant Shrivastava and his friends, Rahul criticised those who had targeted the student online after he raised concerns about discrepancies in his CBSE physics answer sheet. In the video, the Congress MP and the students are seen laughing at also being called “Soros agents”, a reference to the Hungarian-American investor and philanthropist George Soros whom the Right-wing lobby accuses of funding “Left-wing agenda” among other things.”Were you also called ‘terrorists’? Tell me!” Gandhi asked Vedant and some other students in the 90-second clip of the interaction which he shared on social media.Another student is shown responding in the affirmative to Gandhi’s question. “To shut us up… they said we are some ‘deep state agents trying to create unrest in India’,” he said.Laughing at the statement, the Congress leader is seen looking at the cameraperson, saying, “Seventeen-year-old ‘deep state agents’! Show their faces… Come on, show the faces of these ‘terrorists’!”“A revealing chat with my fellow ‘anti-national Soros agents’,” he wrote later on X. “Vedant and his friends are brilliant, brave young Indians who asked CBSE and the Modi government simple questions — but got insults instead of answers. They deserve a bright and secure future. We will make sure they get it,” Gandhi added.
