Saddleback, a cycling distribution company based in Bristol, has fallen into administration after 22 years in business.

The firm provided British cycling enthusiasts with access to premier global brands.

An automated reply on the Saddleback email reads: “Saddleback Ltd is no longer operational, as of Friday 29th May 2026.

“If you have any inquiries about products, please get in touch directly with the brand.

“Everyone at Saddleback Ltd would like to thank you for your custom and support during the time of operation.”

Saddleback functioned as an e-commerce website, known for selling high-end and specialist cycling gear as an online retailer, and supplying over 100 bike dealers with stock.

The cycling distributor, founded in 2004, had a 40,000 sq ft warehouse and headquarters in Yate, Bristol, but no high street stores.

Saddleback stocked some of the biggest names in cycling, including Castelli, Chris King, Pivot Cycles and Sportful.

It also stocked major American brand, Cannondale, known for Tour De France success – however, the partnership split in March when Cannondale changed its distribution terms.

A similar situation saw Saddleback end business with premium company, ENVE.

Saddleback faced prolonged financial difficulties, with accounts showing pre-tax losses of £1.6million in January 2025.

TheBusinessDesk.com has since revealed that Saddleback has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators.

Around 42 staff members have reportedly been made redundant, and Saddleback’s website has shut down.

Saddleback was approached for comment.
