A 35-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside the bathroom of his residence in Mohalla Sheranwala, Kapurthala, after neighbours alerted police about a foul smell emanating from the house.The deceased had reportedly been living alone and his body is suspected to have remained inside the house for several days before being discovered.The deceased was identified as Varinder Kumar Aggarwal (35) and had been living alone in the house following the death of his parents and was unmarried.The matter came to light when local residents noticed a strong foul smell coming from the residence and informed the police, following which a team from the City Police Station reached the spot. During the inspection, the body of was found lying inside the bathroom.Initial investigations suggested that the man may have died two to three days ago. Police sources said the deceased was known to have suffered from occasional health-related seizures.Investigators suspect that he may have suffered a sudden medical emergency while taking a bath, causing him to collapse in the bathroom. However, the exact circumstances leading to his death remain unclear.The body has been sent to the civil hospital for a post-mortem examination. City Police Station SHO Amandeep Nahar said the exact cause of death would only be known after the post-mortem report is received. Further investigations are underway.
