As the last phase of the paddy transplantation began on Tuesday, the power demand crossed 15,400 MW, the highest this year. Some parts of the state experienced unscheduled power cuts, even as the power corporation claimed it had ample power to meet the current demand.Though consumers in various parts of the state are facing unscheduled outages, the farmers are getting eight-hour power supply for their fields. Paddy season begun on June 1 and by June 15 it would cover the entire state.
