Reinforcing its role in conservation education, the Chhatbir Zoo School Club has expanded to 4,850 member schools, comprising 2,050 private and 2,800 government institutions across the region.Over the past four academic years, the club has engaged 4,21,079 students through guided tours, wildlife workshops and eco-learning programmes.Participation stood at 83,049 students in 2022-23 and surged to a peak of 1,37,011 students in 2023-24, marking a 65 per cent year-on-year increase. The number stood at 1,11,731 students in 2024-25.In the ongoing academic year 2025-26, the club has already recorded the participation of 89,288 students, maintaining strong engagement despite a dip from the 2023-24 peak.The substantial and nearly equal representation from government and private schools reflects a broad-based commitment to experiential learning and environmental stewardship among students.The School Club aims to transform zoos from places of recreation into living classrooms. With 4,850 schools now enrolled, the initiative seeks to nurture the next generation of wildlife custodians.The Chhatbir Zoo School Club offers member institutions curriculum-linked activities, expert-led sessions and hands-on nature camps throughout the year.
