The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted rains over Chandigarh and Haryana till June 17.According to the weather department, rain is predicted in a few places in Chandigarh and 18 districts of Haryana — Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, Sonepat, Panipat, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, and Charkhi Dadri — on June 13.However, for June 14, the rainfall prediction is reduced to isolated places over Mahendragarh, Rewari, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, and Charkhi Dadri.As per weather terminology, rainfall over a few places corresponds to an area between 25-50 per cent, and isolated places correspond to up to 25 per cent.The rains will revive again on June 15. Except for Sirsa and Fatehabad, rainfall is predicted over isolated places across Haryana and Chandigarh.Further, on June 16, light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places over 15 districts of Haryana: Mahendragarh, Rewari, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Nuh, Palwal, Faridabad, Rohtak, Sonipat, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Bhiwani, and Charkhi Dadri.On June 17, rainfall is predicted over isolated places across 18 districts of Haryana, except Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar.Regarding day temperatures, Director, IMD, Chandigarh, Surender Paul, said, “There will be a gradual rise in maximum temperature by four to six degrees for the next five days. There will be no large change thereafter. The western disturbances will lead to rains from June 13 to June 17.”
