Amy Garcia, 45, is a presenter on the BBC‘s Look North news show.
The Yorkshire-based mum of two took to her social media page this week to upload a cheery snap showing her posing on the studio sofa in a blue and red patterned dress.
She paired the short-sleeve garment with nude heels and flashed a smile to the camera as she prepared to go on-air.
Yet it came alongside a caption which revealed she had been shamed by fans and she wrote: “I recently received a handwritten letter telling me that my dresses were far too short for my age and why was I dressing like a 17-year-old?

“This outfit is for Margaret, I hope she approves”.
Fans were quick to support her following the trolling and one put: “Love that dress Amy ignore ! Where is it from?!”
Another posted: “She sounds a very rude person Amy… Take no notice and carry on being who you are”.
A third noted: “You always look beautiful Amy. Oh Margaret, Margaret, Margaret you clearly need a hobby to occupy your time rather than insult the lovely Amy”.
One added: “You always dress lovely and look wonderful, wished I had the confidence and your figure xx”
Amy has been the main anchor of the show since 2020.
Prior to her news gig, she worked on CBBC, CITV and The Disney Channel.
She also previously fronted 60 Seconds on BBC Three and BBC South Today.
Recently, another BBC presenter clapped back at trolls who branded her “cheap and trashy” for wearing leather trousers and high heels on air.
Amy’s fellow Look North newsreader Amanda Harper, 52, sported maroon leather trousers, towering heels, and a glittery shirt while presenting an update earlier this week – yet viewers were not impressed.
