A MAN has been charged after a BMW smashed into a bowling alley – sending it flying across 16 lanes.
Driver Callum Thompson, 21, was left in the gutter after the crash at MFA Bowl in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, on Friday evening.

The car knocked down a 18in brick wall before flying across 10ft of grass and smashing into the building.
It is believed to have struck the rear of a Tesla moments before the smash.
Pictures showed the vehicle sitting bumper-to-bumper against a dented wall after coming to a stop on the other side of the bowling alley.
Three people suffered minor injuries following the crash, which occurred shortly before 5pm.

Derbyshire Police confirmed Thompson was treated in hospital, before being questioned and charged with four offences over the incident.
He has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, criminal damage recklessly endangering life, assault and failing to provide breath or blood specimen for analysis.
Thompson was remanded in custody and will appear at Derby Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
In a statement on Facebook, MFA Bowl said: “Due to circumstances beyond our control we will be closed until further notice.

“Please know we will be back open once we’re allowed.
“A huge thank you to all the emergency services involved. We are extremely grateful those injured only suffered minor injuries.
“Thank you all for the supportive comments and love it means the world to the team.”
MFA Bowl regulars went spare after hearing the news – and took to social media to offer their support.
One wrote: “Hopefully it’s not as bad as it looked damage wise and that you’re all okay.
“At least you have a story to tell now, I’m still completely puzzled at how they managed to go all the way through.
“Get the bar, food and amusements open at least and we’ll be up again.”
Another described the situation as “shocking”, before offering to help with repairs and redecorating.
They wrote: “Big hugs to all the staff, it must have been so shocking, I can only imagine the noise and how loud it must have been.
“Wishing you all a speedy recovery from the incident and a fast return to business. The guys are going to miss their bowling.
“If you need a hand redecorating / tidying up or anything I’m sure there will be many of us happy to offer help.”
The bowling alley sits opposite a junction at Derby Road and Oakwell Drive.
Cops closed the road for five hours as investigations started on Friday.
