PREMIER LEAGUE winner Nigel de Jong has been plunged into mourning – after his ex-footballer dad passed away aged just 61.
Dutch midfielder De Jong helped Manchester City win the 2012 league title as well as the 2011 FA Cup.

He made 137 City appearances in three years, scoring two goals, before leaving for AC Milan in 2012.
De Jong, 41, won 81 Netherlands caps. He is currently the Dutch FA’s technical director.
Dad Jerry himself made three Oranje appearances in the early 1990s.
He had spells with PSV Eindhoven, Groningen, Heerenveen and French club Caen.

The Suriname-born defender played 370 senior games, scoring 25 goals.
But De Jong Sr passed away at the weekend. No cause of death has yet been revealed.
The KNVB, Holland‘s FA, was quick to pay tribute to the former player.
They wrote: “We have learned with great sadness of the passing of Jerry de Jong.
