Around 16million will instead tune in to ITV to roar on the Three Lions from the comfort of their living rooms to tackle the later start.
A tournament across the US, Canada and Mexico means late kick-off times for those watching in England – with our next game against Ghana on Tuesday also scheduled for 9pm.
The final group game will take place in New York at 10pm on June 27.

Around 10,000 England fans have travelled to Texas for tonight’s action, which will take place at the AT&T Stadium – home to the Dallas Cowboys.
Pictures showed supporters getting into the spirit early as they downed beers and waved England flags after arriving in Dallas.
One pub in the city – fittingly called The Londoner – managed to shift more than 5,000 beers in total – making more than £30,000 in one night as thirsty fans drunk Dallas dry.
But they’ll need to have deep pockets if they fancy a beer inside the stadium – with pints costing up to £12.62.
Booze will also be served as a US pint – which is 16oz or 473ml – compared to 20oz or 591 ml served in British boozers.
Fans will be gasping for the extra 118ml to help steady their nerves as England hope to end six decades of hurt and bring the World Cup home.
It’s been an agonising few years after the Three Lions came within touching distance of glory a staggering three times.
The team reached two Euro finals in 2021 and 2024 and a semi-final in 2018.
Our last World Cup campaign in 2022 saw England reach the quarter-finals in Qatar.
In a heartbreaking twist, it was Croatia that dashed England’s hopes of its first World Cup final since 1966 when they beat us 2-1.
With Gareth Southgate gone, supporters’ hopes are now pinned on a German manager to bring England to victory.
Thomas Tuchel is already facing questions over his 26-man squad after he brutally axed Prem stars Cole Palmer and Phil Foden.
England stalwart Harry Maguire was also controversially snubbed – despite having a decent season for Man Utd.
A leaked line-up for tonight’s game suggests Tuchel with stick with the team that started in England’s 3-0 victory against Costa Rica.
Manchester City defender Marc Guehi, who was seen as a certain starter, has been benched in place of a back four of Nico O’Reilly, John Stones, Ezri Konsa and Reece James.
Jude Bellingham also looks set to start over Morgan Rogers, while Barcelona‘s newest signing Anthony Gordon has been given the nod on the left.
The team has already faced one injury blow after Tino Livramento was ruled out with an injury yesterday.
Chelsea‘s Trevoh Chalobah was given the nod to replace the defender.
Fresh off the back of their Premier League win, all eyes will likely be on the Arsenal lads this tournament to boost England’s chances.
Bukayo Saka has been chosen to take part in his fifth major tournament, while Gunners teammate Eberechi Eze has been called up for his first World Cup.
Noni Madueke, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea last summer for £50million, has also been chosen to represent the Three Lions in a major competition for the first time.
And of course, Arsenal talisman Declan Rice – considered one of the best midfielders in the world – will bolster England’s chances in his second World Cup.
England captain Harry Kane will once again lead his teammates out under the lights of AT&T’s retractable roof tonight.
The Ballon d’Or contender has enjoyed a standout campaign for Bayern Munch – netting 61 goals across all competitions in his best season so far.
Fans will be praying unflappable Kane can replicate his world-class form for England to help bring it home.
