FORMER Premier League star Warren Barton was struck by a bottle and left bleeding during commentary at the World Cup.
Barton, 57, covered Colombia’s crazy 3-1 win over Uzbekistan for Fox Sports along with Brit favourite Jacqui Oatley.

But he was hit in the celebrations after also being covered in alcohol from the stands.
Writing on X at full-time in Mexico, ex-Newcastle, Wimbledon and Derby man Barton said: “Great game tonight except from being hit by a bottle”.
He posted a picture with a clear cut on his forehead and patches of blood still visible.
Lead commentator Oatley, 51, added: “That was an unusual one.

“Getting drenched in beer while commentating on a goal (quite refreshing, actually) and poor @warrenbarton22 was whacked/cut in the head by a flying bottle!
“I heard him being hit and turned round to see blood trickling down his forehead.

And Oatley picked up: “Warren’s got an actual cut to the head, you’re dripping with blood.
“I’m not joking. What on earth was it, a full bottle of something?”
He powered through, shrugging it off: “No, I know. It’s OK. It’s good. Whatever it was, it was sharp, but I’m OK.”
It was one of the most remarkable matches of the tournament so far with Colombia going ahead through Crystal Palace‘s Daniel Munoz, sparking wild scenes.
But minnows and newbies Uzbekistan hit back after an hour only for Bayern Munich ace Luis Diaz to respond almost immediately.
Colombia then sent the stadium into a frenzy with their late final goal, but that came after Diaz had hurt a cameraman following a bizarre collision with Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
