The search team included colleagues of the father of her children, coastguard rescue officer, Stephen Jones, 36, who said he was “heartbroken” at her death.
An appeal to find Leah was launched after she was last seen wearing a brown cotton top with flowers on it and brown trousers in the village of Penmon.
But hours later it ended in tragedy with police announcing Leah’s body had been found – and devastated Stephen thanked well-wishers for support.
He said: “Throughout everything that has happened, I have been overwhelmed by the support shown to my family and I.
“It is still early days, and I know there will be many challenges and obstacles ahead. However, I also know that I do not face them alone.
“For now, I need time and space to focus on my family and to ensure that our girls receive all the love, care, and support they need.
“Thank you all for your kindness, support and understanding.”
North Wales Police said: “Following an overnight search for a missing woman in the Penmon area of Anglesey, a body has sadly been found.
“While formal identification has yet to take place, the woman’s family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
“The death is currently being treated as non-suspicious, and the coroner has been informed.
“Our thoughts are with the woman’s loved ones at this difficult time.”
An inquest is yet to open.
