He was left with severe injures after riding his bike into traffic on June 12 where he was struck by one car and flung into the path of a second which also hit him.
Family friends have described the extent of the boy’s injuries saying he almost had one of his legs amputated and had a “significant loss of flesh”.
“He [also] lost a large amount of blood and suffered multiple skull fractures, which have caused his brain to swell dangerously,” they wrote in a fundraiser.
“I can’t lose him,” mom Jackie Almeida told WFLA News as she revealed that if her son survives his injuries, doctors have warned he will need full time care and will never be able to live independently.

“All I can really do now is pray for a miracle, because the doctor said there’s nothing more that they can do,” she added.
“I literally have had to walk out and, while the doctors are talking to me, I go into the bathroom and just yell at God like ‘Help me, like there’s nothing more they can do. I can’t lose him.’”
Jackie was at work at the time of her son’s accident and is still unpacking what took place.
The devastated mom told the news outlet that Asher was with his brother and an incident took place at a nearby gas station just moments before the crash.
She noted that she does not know why her son cycled into traffic but believes he panicked and jumped on his bike in fear without thinking.
Witnesses rushed to help the boy with the person who called the paramedics performing CPR on him until responders were able to revive him at the scene.
Neither driver involved in the horror incident have been charged, Florida Highway Patrol has said.
Jackie noted that she does not blame either driver who she says are not to blame for what happened.
A GoFundMe page has been set up for Asher and his family with over $27,000 raised at the time of writing.
In an update on Saturday, family friends revealed that Asher took some breaths on his own for the first time since the accident and he “showed movement that doctors were not expecting to see.”
He remains in an induced coma and “is still fighting,” they said.
