RUBEN AMORIM has received his first reinforcements since taking over as manager of AC Milan.
The former Manchester United boss landed his new role with the Italian giants earlier this month.

And he has already got his first signing over the line, breaking the bank for Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Ramos.
The 25-year-old is currently acting as an understudy to Cristiano Ronaldo at the World Cup,
But that, and his record of six goals in 30 appearances (albeit mostly from the subs’ bench) has not stopped Milan from splashing big on the forward.
The club have committed a club record fee to the deal, reportedly as high as £60million if certain add-ons are achieved according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

That number is the highest for a Serie A transfer since Romelu Lukaku‘s move from Manchester United to Inter Milan in 2019 – almost £64m.
The figure smashes Milan’s previous benchmark for an incoming signing, in which they paid almost £43m to Lille for Ramos’ international team-mate Rafael Leao.
Amorim, also Portuguese, is familiar with the player personally and reportedly pushed for the signing to kick off his business at the club.
He has even been linked to a move the Old Trafford in recent years, though the door on that move appears to have closed for the immediate future.

And despite being stateside for the World Cup, Ramos was able to complete his medical abroad to streamline the move.
Ramos broke through at Benfica, and made waves internationally for his performances at the 2022 World Cup.
He notably started over Ronaldo in the nation’s Round of 16 clash with Switzerland, bagging himself a hat-trick and an assist in the 6-1 demolition.
He made the switch to PSG in 2023, and has since become a three-time Ligue 1 champion.

He was also part of the squad that made it back-to-back Champions League trophies for the side when they defeated Arsenal last month.
But game time has been increasingly hard to come by behind Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, who has played centrally for large portions of recent seasons.
