Hannah had been volunteering as a flag starter at Detonators Dust-Up, a vintage dirt-racing event in Hampshire.

Cops said they received reports of “a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Tongham Motor Club Race Track”.

It confirmed the pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, sadly died from her injuries after the shocking incident.

Hannah was passionate about drag racing and classic cars, spending her spare time as a member of Detonators Car Club.

People who knew her were “shocked and saddened” by her loss, with tributes pouring in for the “kind and caring” nurse.

Detonators penned a poignant tribute to the “much loved member” of the hot-rodding community.

The club shared the sad news on social media, saying: “Last Saturday afternoon, Hannah tragically lost her life following a racing accident while Flag Starting at the Hot Rod Hayride Oval Track event- ‘The Detonators Dust – Up’.

“There is so much more to say about the wonderful, vibrant young woman, Hannah; her love of drag racing, of traditional style hot rods including her 32 Pickup built for her by Laurence.”

She loved “road trips, car shows, motorcycles, steam fairs, running, vintage clothes, dancing and socialising” and looked after sick kids as a nurse on children’s wards.

The club added: “Hannah touched many lives and was deeply loved, respected, and very dear to us all.

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with her beloved Laurence, her husband and best friend for the past 14 years, his parents Julie and Keith and wider family.

“And of course Austin, her four legged companion, who was often by her side and on her lap.”

The car club set up a GoFundMe in Hannah’s memory, with the proceeds set to go to “her beloved husband Laurence”.

So far it has raised more than £19,000 – close to its £22,000 target and testament to how well-loved she was.

The shocking incident took place at Tongham Motor Club Race Track during the Hot Rod Hayride event.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: “An investigation is underway following a fatal collision in Alton.

“Police were called at 12.50pm on Saturday, June 20, following a report of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Tongham Motor Club Race Track.

“The pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, sadly died from her injuries.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances that led to this collision.”

In her day job, Hannah worked as a dental nurse, and her colleagues at Tanyard and Golding Dental Group said she was “a much-loved, admired dental nurse and friend, by both patients and staff”.

“Life will never be the same without her bright energy every day,” they added.
