After hours of intense investigations, the authorities determined the man had been in the water for between one and four weeks.
His identity remains a mystery after DNA tests yielded no results, and nobody has been reported missing on the island.
The police now hope that a ring he was wearing may lead them to some answers.
The distinctive piece of jewellery is made out of white gold and set with a blue and white stone.

According to police, the man was approximately 6ft 5in and somewhere between 40- and 60-years-old.
He was wearing size 13 shoes, and digital Casio G-shock watch with a black strap when he was found.
Blue jeans and a black hooded jacket were also recovered from the body.
Police lawyer Jørgen Bunk Olsen told NRK: “After our initial investigations, we have not been able to find out who he is.
“We also have little information about why he ended up at the Mosque”.
Olsen added that the possibility he was a foreign national could not be ruled out.
The mystery thickens as the island on which the man was discovered is completely uninhabited and police have “little information” about why he was there.
Police worked on the case for two weeks before appealing to the public for help.
Growing increasingly desperate, the police have also contacted cops in foreign countries for help.
He was first discovered by a beach clean up team called “In The Same Boat”.
The leader of the clean up crew, Rolf-Ørjan Høgset, said finding the man was “a brutal experience”.
“It has affected the entire team”, he added.
It comes as a dedicated England fan went missing while travelling to the US for the World Cup.
Michael Hewitt, also known as “Little Mick” to his loved ones, had been on his way to Boston to watch the Three Lions next match when he disappeared.
