FORMER Newcastle and Aston Villa defender Habib Beye has been SACKED by Marseille.
Beye, 48, was only appointed four months ago but won just six of his 13 matches in charge.

He replaced Roberto De Zerbi at the French side following a chaotic start to the season.
Beye, who played 61 times in the Prem and over 170 for Marseille, had been axed himself by Rennes in February.
Then he was appointed at the Stade Velodrome weeks later after Italian De Zerbi got dismissed.
Ex-Senegal international Beye is set to be replaced by Bruno Genesio.
Reports in France say that he is in line to come in after leaving Lille.
Marseille’s statement confirming Beye had been sacked was just 29 words long.
It reads: “Olympique de Marseille announces the end of its collaboration with Habib Beye.
“The Club thanks Habib Beye and sends him its best wishes for the rest of his career.”

He had his house broken into TWICE after arriving at Marseille.
Marseille had been runners- up in De Zerbi’s only full season in charge but ended up fifth in 2025/26.
They dropped out of the Champions League places and even out of the European spots completely at one stage.
After finishing with consecutive wins, they secured Conference League football for next season.
Frenchman Genesio, 59, has previously managed at Lyon and Rennes.
He took Lille to third last term after coming fifth the year before.
