Mahua Moitra, a Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP, was targeted with eggs outside an eatery in West Bengal on Wednesday.According to reports, the incident occurred as Moitra was leaving the restaurant after a visit. A group of protesters allegedly hurled eggs at her while raising slogans. Security personnel accompanying the MP quickly escorted her to safety, and no injuries were reported.The identities of those involved and the motive behind the protest were not immediately clear. Police reached the spot and began an investigation into the incident.The TMC condemned the attack, calling it an attempt to intimidate an elected representative, while opposition leaders traded accusations over the episode.No arrests had been reported till the filing of this report, and police were examining CCTV footage and eyewitness accounts to identify those responsible.
