AT least 40 people have died and eight others have been left injured after an overcrowded bus plunged down a ravine in Pakistan.
The vehicle careered off a highway in Dana Sar, near Balochistan, before emergency services rushed to the scene and rescued wounded survivors.

The bus was carrying its own passengers as well as a group of stranded travellers whose bus had broken down – leaving the vehicle overcrowded.
It had a total of 48 people on board at the time.
Rescue workers raced to the ravine and identified those killed and injured.
The bus was headed to the country’s capital Islamabad from the city of Quetta.
