He joked it was the ‘best interview ever’ as the tree crashed into the table he was sat on Credit: Fox Sports Argentina

The 23-year-old was conducting an interview with Fox Sports Argentina in the Alpine motorhome in the F1 paddock when a tree placed in the background of the video was caught in the wind.

Colapinto and the interviewer were then left stunned as the plant fell forwards and into the middle of them during their interview, smashing the table and interrupting their chat.

The reporter, who was speaking in Spanish, was heard yelling, “no, no, no”, while Colapinto joked it was “the best interview in history”.

He jokingly added: “They’re trying to injure me.”

The tree was removed before the interview resumed.

Colapinto seemingly has a bit of a curse at Silverstone, especially if you look at his time there last year.

The Argentine racer drew out a red flag in FP1 after going into the gravel at Club corner and hitting the barriers.

He ended up qualifying in dead last without setting a time before he was required to start from the pit lane for exceeding the quota of power unit elements on his engine.

Colapinto was then unable to start the race due to a gearbox issue.

This season he has had more mixed fortunes behind the wheel.

He has scored points in four of the eight races so far this season, including a career-best sixth place finish in Canada.

Colapinto is 12th in the standings going into the British Grand Prix.
