SIR CLIFF RICHARD went wild at Wimbledon celebrating Novak Djokovic’s win over Felix Auger-Aliassime after leaving his taxi meter running for FOUR hours while watching the tennis.

The pop legend, 85, has been a regular face at SW19 for decades and is often spotted taking in the action in the Royal Box.

He was on Centre Court yesterday to watch Djokovic edge Auger-Aliassime in a five-set epic.

The Serbian won 7-6, 3-6, 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 in a match lasting five hours and 15 minutes, finishing at 10.52pm.

It was the longest quarter-final in the history of Wimbledon and Sir Cliff certainly seemed to be enjoying himself in the Royal Box.

Sir Cliff was happy to sit on his own for three-and-a-half hours as the action unfolded.

The veteran music star was filmed jumping up and down after celebrating an incredible Djokovic point during a match that had so many twists and turns.

And it appears Sir Cliff got so carried away by the action on Centre Court he forgot his taxi meter was still running.

Writing on social media, he posted a picture of himself in a blue and grey suit holding a Wimbledon umbrella.

He said: “Day 10 – I couldn’t pull myself away from the exhilarating Djokovic/Auger Aliassime match last night, so my taxi’s meter was running for 4 hours whilst waiting for me!”

On court he went for another visually striking fashion choice after wearing a blue snakeprint blazer with a black shirt and tie.

He witnessed a vintage performance from Djokovic, who needed two hours to force a break from Auger-Aliassime.

Djokovic also overcame an injury and anger at the roof being closed as the match just avoided the 11pm curfew.

When the Serbian was asked how he managed to edge his rival, he replied: “With a racket and a lot of heart.

“A lot of, I guess, management of the nerves and the extreme tension that you feel in these matches.

“Towards the end, it really was anyone’s game. I think the scoreline was pretty even throughout the match.

“I think it was really anyone’s game in the super tie-break.

“What can I say, these are the kind of moments I still play tennis for. I wish it was the final so I don’t have to worry about how the body will feel tomorrow. I am happy that I won.”

Djokovic will play reigning champion Jannik Sinner in the last four in a rematch of last year’s semi-final.
