Supriya Shrinate, chairperson of the AICC social media, today accused the BJP of banning the screening of movie “Satluj”, as it was scared of its dark truth coming out.Accompanied by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Shrinate questioned the BJP’s silence. “Why is the BJP quiet? They must be scared because their own dirty linen might also come out,” she said.In a reply to a question on memories of 1984 anti-Sikh riots being reignited following the release of “Satluj”, she said the Congress had always acknowledged that the riots were wrong.“Rahul Gandhi himself served at the Darbar Sahib and the Congress condemned the violence,” she said, adding that the party also gave the country its first Sikh President and first Sikh Prime Minister.Shrinate said the party remained committed to the state’s syncretic culture and religious traditions.Taking on the BJP and RSS over the theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, she said Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot escape responsibility since he took credit for everything. “When you sidelined everyone else, including the Shankaracharyas to exclusively claim credit for everything, now you cannot remain silent,” Shrinate said.Supriya Shrinate said it was a brutal attack on the faith and trust of Hindus who donated their earnings to the temple.
