FORMER Arsenal midfielder Isaac Hayden has joined Leyton Orient in a permanent transfer.
The 31-year-old became a free agent at the start of the month after leaving Queens Park Rangers.

But he has already found a new club, with League One side Orient securing his signature.
Hayden penned a two-year deal this week with a one-year option to extend.

Upon his arrival, he said: “I’m really happy to sign for Orient. The project of the club sounds really exciting and I’m looking forward to working closely with the gaffer and the team.
“I’ve met the gaffer and Scott [Mitchell, director of football] in person a couple of times this summer and they have painted a great picture of the club and where they see me fitting in.

“They explained the need for more leaders within the changing room – and I want to bring my experience to help the club reach their goals.
“I’m 31 but I have so much drive in me to continue making an impact on the pitch.”
Leyton Orient head coach Richie Wellens added: “I’m really pleased to have Isaac sign for us.
“He’s another of the type of character we want to add to the dressing room.

“He brings plenty of experience and will help set the standards for the other lads for the upcoming season.
“His footballing ability speaks for itself. He’s played at a high level for the majority of his career and understands what it takes to win games.
“He was someone our recruitment team first identified and we really wanted to get him in this summer. I think he’ll be a great addition to our squad.”
Hayden made 30 appearances for QPR last season following his free transfer.
Prior to that, he spent nine years with Newcastle which included five loan spells.
The midfielder kicked off his professional playing career in 2013 with Arsenal, having graduated from the club’s academy.
He made just two senior appearances for the north London side in total.
