Greggs confirms wave of store closures due to red heat warning in UK
Seven shops in the following locations have already been earmarked for closure:
Fairfax Avenue, Hull
Esk Close, Guisborough
Zetland Road, Loftus
Stokesley High Street, Middlesbrough
Queen Street, Redcar
Middle Street, South Driffield
Woodthorpe, York
The supermarket giant said cost increases as a result of increases in the National Living Wage and employee National Insurance contributions are part of the reason for the closures.
The UK’s sixth largest supermarket hopes the closures will save £1billion as part of a long term budget strategy.
