Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) secretary Balwinder Singh Kahlwan today said the saroops of Guru Granth Sahib sent to Canada were transported with strict adherence to Sikh rehat maryada (religious conduct). He said reports of damage to the saroops was a propaganda to malign the Sikh body.Kahlwan said all norms were followed while shipping the saroops to Canada.He added that the SGPC sends holy scriptures to several countries, including England, Australia and Bangkok.The SGPC provided saroops to the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara Association at Surrey, Canada, after our officials visited their premises to take stock of all arrangements, he said.Even the executive had granted its approval in its meeting dated July 28, 2025, through resolution number 798. He said even executive committee member Harjinder Kaur had visited the gurdwara concerned and paid obeisance, expressing satisfaction over the arrangements. Kahlwan appealed to the Sikh sangat to be wary of rumors.
