Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Chandigarh and Punjab, a fresh threat email has been sent to schools in Chandigarh and Mohali, claiming bomb blasts at various locations in Chandigarh and Jalandhar on July 17.The email also threatened the life of Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu.In the email, sent to schools in Mohali and Chandigarh, the sender threatened to plant bombs in local schools and the Mohali Mayor’s office, and to carry out IED blasts at the Jalandhar and Chandigarh railway stations.The sender claimed that schools would be targeted at 1.11 pm and the Mohali Mayor’s office at 3.11 pm on July 17 — a day that coincides with Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana to announce various projects.The email also warned Punjab residents against attending Modi’s rally, and further claimed support for actor and singer Diljit Dosanjh.In the recent past, several schools in Chandigarh and Mohali have received similar threat emails, keeping security agencies on high alert.
