Commuters travelling through the Ladhowal Toll Plaza on the National Highway will have to pay higher toll charges from Wednesday, with the revised user fee schedule for the financial year 2026-27 coming into effect.While toll rates have been increased across all categories of vehicles, the concession for eligible local residents has been retained, with the monthly local pass continuing at Rs 360.Talking to The Tribune, toll plaza manager Vipin Rao said the revised user fee had been implemented as per the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) notification and came into effect on Wednesday. He said the updated tariff charts had been displayed at the toll plaza and commuters were being informed about the revised rates.Another toll plaza manager, Deepinder Pal, said motorists had been advised to maintain sufficient balance in their FASTag accounts to ensure seamless passage through the toll plaza. He added that the staff had been instructed to facilitate commuters during the implementation of the revised tariff.Under the revised schedule, cars, jeeps, vans and other light motor vehicles will pay Rs 235 for a single journey and Rs 350 for a return journey completed within 24 hours. The monthly pass for 50 single journeys has been fixed at Rs 7,815, while commercial vehicles registered within the district will continue to avail a concessional rate of Rs 115 per trip.Light commercial vehicles, light goods vehicles and minibuses will be charged Rs 380 for a single journey and Rs 570 for a return trip. Buses and two-axle trucks will pay Rs 795 and Rs 1,190, respectively, while three-axle commercial vehicles will be charged Rs 865 for a single journey and Rs 1,300 for a return journey.Heavy construction machinery, earth-moving equipment and multi-axle vehicles with four to six axles will attract a toll of Rs 1,245 for a single trip and Rs 1,865 for a return journey. Vehicles with seven or more axles will pay Rs 1,515 for a single journey and Rs 2,270 for a return trip.The revised notification also retains the concession for local residents. Owners of non-commercial vehicles residing within a 20-km radius of the toll plaza and fulfilling the prescribed eligibility criteria can continue to avail a monthly pass of Rs 360. An annual pass of Rs 3,075 has also been notified for eligible non-commercial vehicles equipped with a valid FASTag.
