WAITROSE has urgently recalled a popular bakery item over fears the pastries may contain pieces of hard plastic and metal.

If shoppers have bought the product, they have been urged not to eat them, and instead return to their nearest store.

Waitrose has pulled a batch of its 8 Chocolate Chip Brioche Rolls multipack from shelves due to metal and hard plastic contamination.

Shoppers who have bought the bakery staple have been told the affected products are unsafe to eat.

The batch of items impacted by the recall display a best before date of July 26, 2026, and a batch code B26177.

No other batches of the brioche rolls are impacted by this recall.

Customers who have bought the product have been urged to not eat them.
