GABRIEL LANGTON was taken to hospital in Glasgow after suffering a sickening injury on night one of the Commonwealths.
Langton, 19, fell from the high bars with his head facing directly to the ground on day one of the rescheduled Glasgow event.

The former European junior all-around medallist received medical attention – the artistic gymnastic action at The Arena was immediately stopped – and then he was stretchered away under medical supervision.
His England team-mates were left visibly shocked by the horror incident but had to regroup and continue the competition.

Before the resumption, all the athletes were given the chance to warm-up again because of the long period of inactivity, which was about 20 minutes.
Canada ended up taking the gold with a score of 241.400 points, while England finished with silver (238.250 points), ahead of bronze medallists Australia (235.650).

Late on Friday night, Team England provided an update on Langton’s situation.
A spokesperson said: “Team England’s Gabriel Langton had a fall at tonight’s artistic gymnastics men’s individual qualification and team final competition.
“We are grateful to the medical teams who responded immediately to provide assistance.
“He has been taken to hospital and we will share more information when it is available.”

Luke Whitehouse, one of the England gymnasts, stood on the podium with teammates Joshan Nathan, Adam Tobin and Alexander Yolshin-Cash as Langton received medical attention elsewhere.
He said: “From what we’ve heard, he’s doing OK, so fingers crossed for Gabe.
“After something like that happens, you’ve just got to put it out of your mind, reset and focus on the routine, skill by skill.
The Halifax gymnast, 24, added: “It was really tough. We just had to reset, try to put it to one side mentally and focus on the job we had to do.
“I think everyone should be proud of the way we carried on after Gabe’s fall.
“We all agreed we’d take another warm-up and bring our energy back into it.
“There was a delay after the first warm-up, but we regrouped.
“The coaches were fantastic, and the boys who had to go up on high bar were incredible.
“The togetherness of the team really showed, and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone.”
Brummie Nathan, 26, said: “It’s such a beautiful medal, and after the competition we’ve had, it’s something really special to take home.
“Today has been such a rollercoaster. First and foremost, our thoughts are with Gabriel after what happened on high bar.
“But the way this team came together was incredible. I couldn’t be prouder of the boys.”
Barnstaple tumbler Tobin, 25, said: “We all hope Gabe is okay, but at the end of the day we had to pull together, keep our heads down and do our jobs.”
