He flew to the island on Friday to help join the desperate search.
Sharing the missing persons alert on Facebook, he said: “My wife Liz is missing in Grenada.
“If any of you have connections to the island – can you please share the following with your contacts there?”
“I expect nothing less than Liz’s safe return – so please send your love, light, thoughts, and prayers our way,” he added.
The Royal Grenada Police Force described Waddell as 5-foot-5, with a medium build and short blonde hair in the news release.
“We specially appeal to fishermen, boat operators, and residents along the southern coastline to report any sightings or relevant information that may assist in locating Ms. Waddell,” they wrote.
Family friend Amanda Romano-Harmon described Waddell as a wonderful person, while raising fears that something may have happened to her while she had gone for a swim.
“She’s an amazing person, and we want to bring her home,” Romano-Harmon told ABC affiliate WTVD.
“It seems that she went down to the pier and left her towel on the pier and went for a swim.”
Romano-Harmon and her husband go way back with the Waddells, the outlet reported. Her husband Shawn was Cailen’s college roommate.

“Our daughter is 16, and she refers to them as her aunt and uncle, because we’re just that close,” Romano-Harmon told the outlet.
Waddell built Art of Movement Physical Therapy from the ground up, bringing a decade in physical therapy and more than 20 years in fitness and dance to the practice, according to her website.
Her bio said: When not helping people feel awesome, Liz stays active with olympic weightlifting, pole dancing, CrossFit, hiking, traveling, and taking walks with her husband, Cailen, to patronize the downtown Cary small business scene.”
Anyone with information about Waddell’s whereabouts is asked to contact the South Saint George Police Station or the Criminal Investigation Department.
