Optometry giants Specsavers have insured the 22-year-old’s eyes for £1 million after she won the 2026 Women’s World Matchplay title.

She claimed a 6-5 win against 2022 champion Fallon Sherrock, 32, in the final.

This win saw Greaves walk away with £15,000 from the £40,000 total prize pot.

The Women’s World Matchplay winner follows in a growing list of stars insuring their body parts for millions.

Football legend Cristiano Ronaldo, 41, previously insured his legs for £114 million.

Meanwhile, popstar Miley Cyrus, 33, covered her tongue for £1 million after it became a key part of her signature look.

Greaves emphasised the importance of her vision after her Women’s World Matchplay win.

“I’m really proud to have won the Women’s World Matchplay for a third time,” Greaves said. “It was a tough final and matches like that come down to the finest of margins.

“In darts, having clear, reliable vision is a huge part of performing at your best. Partnering with Specsavers feels like a natural fit because my eyesight is such a big part of my game, so it makes sense to protect it.”

Specsavers’ brand partnerships and sponsorships lead Neil Liddle has explained the strategy behind the company’s bizarre move.

“When you’re aiming for targets just millimetres wide, your eyesight isn’t just important – it’s everything,” Liddle said. “Yet while people recognise the importance of good vision, many are still putting other priorities ahead of looking after their eyes.

“By insuring Beau’s eyes, we want to remind everyone – not just elite athletes – to value and protect their vision by making regular eye tests a priority.”

Her career has gone from strength-to-strength after her historic 114-match winning run was ended in March.

She then became the first female player to win the Players Championship after defeating former world champion Michael Smith, 35, in the final.

Greaves is now scheduled to make her debut on the PDC European Tour at the Hungarian Darts Trophy, starting on Friday, August 28.
