HOME Secretary Shabana Mahmood signed off on a deal to hand a total of £1billion to the French to stop small boat crossings.
A £662million package running until 2029 was gifted to Paris in April this year.
This is on top of the £480million agreed in 2023 by the Tories – taking the total package to £1billion in six years.
Despite the cash injection from British taxpayers, the French authorities have prevented just 35 per cent of Channel crossings last year.
