The spectacle will sweep the sky on August 12 and will be one of the most impressive solar eclipses the nation has seen in almost two decades.

The partial solar eclipse will see a section of the sun blocked out by the moon. For those observing in the UK, the unmissable moment is set to begin in the evening from around 6pm.
