A BRITISH stationery chain has launched an everything must go sale ahead of closing a popular branch for good.
TG Jones will close down its branch on Southend high street on September 26.

A major closing down sale has been launched with discounts of up to 30% available.
The closure will also mean the loss of the city’s main Post Office, which is located on the floor above the store.

Once it shuts, the nearest branches will be in Sutton Road and Hamlet Court Road.
A spokesperson for TG Jones said: “As part of our work to secure the long-term future of TG Jones, we have confirmed that our Southend store will close. We appreciate this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers and the local community.

The former WHSmith high street arm was sold last year and rebranded as TG Jones in a £76million shake-up aimed at saving the business.
But trading at the stores is understood to have been poor since the turn of the year.
The owner of TG Jones, Modella Capital, gained approval for a company-wide restructure on July 1.
Now, up to 150 stores are at risk of closure, with rent set to be cut by 15 to 75 per cent on hundreds more.
That includes another branch in Swindon which is set to shutter soon.
While WH Smith sold all its high street stores to Modella last year, it continues to operate its travel shops, including in airports and train stations, which was the more profitable part of the business.
