Those tactics were very similar to the way Jurgen Klopp used Alexander-Arnold at Anfield.
Mourinho, 63, took a page out of ex-Liverpool boss Klopp and also had the versatile defender provide important balls from midfield.
That proved to be quite the “surgical” tactic from the Portuguese tactician ahead of a critical season for Real.
