Six persons were injured when two groups opened fire at each other at a religious event in Obboke village, where support was allegedly sought for the Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De), led by Khadoor Sahib MP Amritpal Singh.Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) leader Harpreet Singh Bahmaniwala said he had gone with his colleagues to attend the religious function, where Jagdeep Singh Jagga opened fire on them after an altercation. The injured were taken to the Civil Hospital, Patti, for treatment.According to sources, Bahmaniwala campaigned for Amritpal Singh’s party, which was opposed by the other faction. Sources said Bahmaniwala and Jagga factions had enmity for a long time.Patti DSP Ravisher Singh confirmed that six people were injured in the incident. He said the police had registered a case.
