Amitabh Bachchan just reminded everyone why he is in a league of his own. Days after revealing he had undergone surgery and spent time in the ICU, the 83-year-old pulled a straight 24-hour shift for Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 — starting at 7 am and finishing at 7 am the next morning. He shared the update on his personal blog, in his own unmistakable way. “Finished work at 7 am this morning of work that began at 7 am yesterday. But the importance of its presentation and its timely work was necessary. So DID IT,” he wrote, before signing off to get some food and sleep ahead of yet another early morning call.Missing the schedule was simply not an option. With KBC 18’s premiere date locked in, Bachchan made his priorities clear. “The first broadcast date for KBC is announced and missing that would mean a job replacement for me,” he wrote, with a characteristic touch of humour that landed more like a philosophy than a joke. The timing makes this particularly striking. Just weeks ago, Bachchan had spoken about a surgery and ICU stay, describing the recovery as one of the most difficult phases of his life. He had also recently had to address fan concerns after a cryptic blog post about champions and loss — which many assumed referred to his health, was misread as a hospital admission update. He clarified it was a reference to Messi and Argentina’s FIFA World Cup loss to Spain.Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 premieres August 10 on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. At 83, Bachchan is clearly not planning to slow down anytime soon.
