Punjabi singer-songwriter Guru Randhawa has expanded his humanitarian efforts for families devastated by the Assam Flood Relief crisis by partnering with the Sikh Aid Foundation to build 35 permanent, flood-proof homes in Sivasagar, Jorhat and Nepali Khuti regions of Upper Assam with a donation of 7 lakh.Guru Randhawa joins a vital collective of public figures who have partnered with Sikh organizations for the Assam crisis. This list includes Bollywood megastar Salman Khan, actor Randeep Hooda, and digital creators Fukra Insaan and Triggered Insaan. These high-profile figures have actively pooled resources to scale up rehabilitation efforts in the worst-hit regions.Randhawa previously stepped up with a personal contribution of 5 lakh to the Hello Life Foundation. Orchestrated through digital creator Dimpu Baruah, this initial funding was directed toward urgent essentials like food, clothing, medical supplies, and basic necessities to support displaced communities. This transition into building elevated, climate-resilient houses marks a move toward sustainable structural safety for local families.This gesture builds on Randhawa’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian efforts. During the devastating Punjab floods, the artist took direct action by setting up specialized relief camps in Dera Baba Nanak and Dharowali. His team personally financed home reconstructions, provided vital cattle feed, and distributed premium wheat seeds to flood-hit farmers to secure their long-term agricultural livelihoods. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, demonstrating a rapid emergency response, the artist was among the earliest public figures to step forward, donating 20 lakhs from his personal savings directly to the PM-CARES Fund to support critical healthcare infrastructure.
