Ajay Devgn is set to make his television debut as the new host of Crime Patrol, replacing Anup Soni who had become synonymous with the long-running Sony TV crime show. The new season, titled Crime Patrol 2026: Crime Ka Current Season, premieres on August 31.The Drishyam actor confirmed his association with the show by sharing a teaser on Instagram, warning viewers that the person behind a crime is not always a stranger. “In many cases today, the culprit is someone you know,” he says in the promo, adding that the new season will feature cases that shook the country. “This is not to scare you, but to make you aware.”He has already shot 15 episodes, but whether he continues beyond that depends entirely on audience response and ratings. Mirzapur actor Rajesh Tailang will also host some episodes this season, with his role similarly dependent on how viewers receive the new format.Devgn joins a long line of Bollywood stars who have stepped into television hosting, following Amitabh Bachchan with Kaun Banega Crorepati and Salman Khan with Bigg Boss. His entry into Crime Patrol is a natural fit given his history of playing law enforcement characters in Gangaajal, Singham and Drishyam.Crime Patrol first aired on Sony TV in 2003 and has completed nine seasons and nearly 2,100 episodes, making it one of Indian television’s longest-running crime shows.
