AT LEAST 18 people, many of them children, have been killed after a pick up truck crashed in Egypt.
Another 30 were injured after the truck carrying workers smashed into another vehicle and flipped over in the Al-Dawawis area of Ismailia on Tuesday.

A major emergency response was launched with 30 ambulances and police cars rushed to the scene.
The wounded and dead were transported to a nearby hospital.

“Most of the dead are children 13 and 14 years old,” a medical source at the hospital told AFP.
The youngest victim was 10 years old.

Victims families gathered outside Al Qasasin Specialized Hospital as they waited to receive the bodies of their loved ones.
Jomana Waleed, a 16-year-old survivor of the crash, revealed her sister’s heart-breaking last words as she stood outside the hospital.
She told AFP: “She said I want to see mama.
“And then she stopped breathing, she was dead.”
Security forces are scouring the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
The truck was transporting workers from two villages in Sharqiya who were employed at a farm in Ismailia, AlJazeera reports.
Dangerously overcrowded pick-ups are a regular mode of transport for informal workers in Egypt.
At least 1.3million minors are engaged in some form of child labour in Egypt, according to official figures.
And children under the age of 15 are the most common victims of of fatal road accidents – which are on the rise across the country.
The Ministry of Labour said it would provide financial support to the families of those killed and to injured.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi had ordered an investigation into the accident which remains ongoing.
