Satpal Singh (35), alias Pala, brother of Satnam Singh, state president of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Majhail), was shot dead at Booh Hathar village here on Wednesday.The police said Satpal was shot by a man who had been staying with him. He was rushed to a private hospital in Tarn Taran in serious condition, where doctors declared him dead. The accused fled the spot with the weapon.Satnam Singh told reporters that his brother had earlier survived an attack in Ferozepur district and later went abroad. He returned home after Satnam himself was attacked. Satnam alleged that despite repeatedly informing the police about threats to his family, no security was provided.He said the attacker, from Kot Budha village, had stayed overnight at Satpal’s house before carrying out the attack in the morning.As soon as the incident was reported, Patti DSP Ravi Sher Singh reached the spot and began investigation.
