Senior SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia on Thursday strongly condemned the attack on SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal near Gurdwara Mata Sahib Devan Ji in Maharashtra’s Nanded.In a post on ‘X’, he called the incident “deeply disturbing” and said that an attack on a devotee at a major Sikh shrine hurts Sikh sentiments.“I strongly condemn the attack on SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal at Gurdwara Sahib in Nanded. An attack on anyone inside a major Sikh shrine is deeply disturbing. I am deeply concerned, as this is the second attack on Sukhbir Badal at a major Sikh shrine.”Linking the December 2024 assassination attempt on Badal outside the Golden Temple to the knife attack, Majithia demanded a joint Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into both security lapses.👉 I strongly condemn the attack on SAD president S. Narain Singh Chaura had alleged links with the terror outfit ISI. Serious questions were also raised over his movements and contacts before the attack. I had then raised questions over CCTV footage showing Chaura interacting with then Amritsar Police SP Harpal Randhawa before the attack. These questions remain unanswered.”“Today’s attack in Nanded makes it even more important to establish whether there is any connection between the two incidents, whether there were security lapses and whether any larger conspiracy was involved. I demand that the Government of India immediately order a CBI inquiry into today’s attack as well as the December 2024 attack on Sukhbir Badal at Sri Darbar Sahib,” said Majithia.Senior party leaders Balwinder Singh Bhunder and Dr Daljit Singh Cheema expressed concern over the two attacks on Badal inside holy shrines during a press conference in Chandigarh on Thursday.Cheema condemned the security lapse and demanded a high-level, court-monitored probe into the incident.He said that such an important leader, who is a Z+ protectee, was under heightened security, yet the attack still took place.
