HE’S one of rock ‘n’ roll’s most iconic figures, renowned for his over the top stage theatrics.
So it’s little wonder shoppers inside a quaint market in the seaside town of Scarborough were left doing a double take when he browsed their shops and stalls.

Nearly six decades into his music career, the ‘Godfather of Shock Rock’ is still going strong, electrifying audiences as the frontman of the star-studded Hollywood Vampires.
The band was in town on Friday to play a set packed with hit cover tracks such as The Who’s Baba O’Riley and David Bowie’s Heroes.

The veteran rockers, who share the name of a famous 70s LA drinking club and exist to honour their fallen rock legend pals, consist of Aerosmith’s Joe Perry on lead guitar, actor Johnny Depp on rhythm guitar and vocals, and Tommy Henriksen on bass and guitar.
Away from the Open Air Theatre stage, their leader and frontman, 78, decided to check out the local haunts.

Shop owner Julie Henderson told the Scarborough News: “I noticed him outside my door and then he just wandered in, I instantly thought ‘Wow! Alice Cooper is in my shop’.
“He was really nice, lovely to talk to, very down to earth. He allowed me to take a picture of him modelling one of my Art Tote bags he had just purchased.”
Another picture showed him exiting the market hall in front of a butcher’s counter.
While some couldn’t believe it was the actual Alice Cooper, others confirmed it most certainly was and that the rock legend even recreated his famous scene from 1992 comedy Wayne’s World.
In the flick, goofy rock fans Wayne (Mike Myers) and Garth (Dana Carvey) find themselves backstage at an Alice gig.
Rather than wild rocker they were expecting to meet, an aloof Alice gives them a history lesson on Milwaukee.
The awestruck pair drop to their knees and proclaim: “We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy! We’re scum! We’re suck!”
Alice then extends his hand to the fawning fans and allows them to kiss his ring as if he were a monarch from centuries gone by.
One fan wrote on Facebook: “He was definitely in the Market, my other half did the whole Wayne’s world thing to him….Alice was great and played along, even said ‘you can kiss my ring’!”
Now sober and a keen golfer, Alice lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife Sheryl. The pair renewed their vows earlier this year to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
In a sweet nod to the original big day, the ceremony was once again officiated by Sheryl’s dad William, 92, who oversaw the 1976 wedding.
Last year, Alice put out the first album with the original line-up of his band in 50 years.
The Revenge Of Alice Cooper effortlessly recaptured the band’s distinctive 70s sound and featured a posthumous appearance by late guitarist Glen Buxton.
